Privacy Policy
This site (davesharp.art) is operated by Dave Sharp (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what personal information we handle when you visit the site or get in touch, and the rights you have over it. We keep data collection to a minimum.
The short version
This is a single-page site for booking enquiries. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or tracking, and collects nothing about you automatically beyond the standard technical logs every website keeps. The only personal information we actively hold is what you choose to send us when you email an enquiry.
Information we handle
Enquiry emails. If you email hello@davesharp.art, we receive and store your email address, your name if you give it, and the contents of your message. We use this only to reply to you and to arrange any booking that follows.
Technical logs. Our host, Cloudflare, automatically records standard technical information for every visit — including IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps. This is used to operate the site, keep it secure and diagnose faults.
Fonts. The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. To deliver them, your IP address is shared with Google.
The auction. If you follow a link to our live auction, that is a separate site with its own registration, terms and privacy policy. This policy does not cover it.
We do not use cookies, analytics, advertising or any visitor tracking on this site.
How we use it
We use the information above only to:
- respond to your enquiry and arrange bookings;
- operate, secure and maintain the website.
We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for marketing.
Who we share it with
We don’t share your information except with the service providers that make the site work — currently Cloudflare (hosting) and Google (fonts) as described above, and our email provider, which handles enquiry emails. Each processes data only on our behalf. We may also disclose information if required to by law.
How long we keep it
Enquiry emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any resulting booking, and a reasonable period afterwards for our records, after which they are deleted. Technical logs are retained only for a short period by our host.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, and to object to or restrict how we use it. To exercise any of these, email hello@davesharp.art. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published here, with the date shown above.
